Carolina BBQ Sauce

Updated: Sep 29, 2020

This is my favorite bbq sauce y’all!! I love it’s tangy flavor, with hints of vinegar, cayenne pepper and brown sugar. We slather it on everything!! Chicken, pork, beef, you name it. I use it as a dipping sauce for chicken fingers, steaks and even French fries!!

I want to share the recipe with you cuz it’s sooo good!! Fair warning though, stock up on the ingredients, you’ll want to keep some in the refrigerator at all times.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup yellow mustard

  • 1 tablespoons onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Dash or two of Worcestershire sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Dump everything into a medium saucepan set to low heat. Whisk together to combine. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil.

  • Boil, stirring often, for 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by 1/3.

  • Remove from the heat and store in a one pint mason jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

It’s such a rich, orange color and gets better as it sits. Not that it has much of a chance to sit around at our house!! I could literally drink it with a straw! Heat up your grill, and get some meat out of the freezer, you’re going to want to head straight from the stovetop to the grill with this yummy sauce!

This sauce creates a gorgeous carmelization as it cooks, so baste away. Then enjoy the rich, tangy flavor, and become addicted like I did!!

Thank you for following along! Tell me what you think of this delicious sauce and how you used it on your grill!! I’d love to hear your recipes and ideas!!
